Slate Caverns offer a choice of two spectacular rides into the vast slate
mines of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Miners' Underground Tramway, which in 1972
pioneered the opening of the Mines to visitors, has now carried over 3
million people, including members of the Royal Family, to explore the
1846 network of tunnels and unbelievably large caverns. Travelling into
the mine on specially designed trains, visitors The Deep Mine offers an alternative view of slate
mining. An ingeniously engineered vehicle conveys On the surface, many other attractions complete
an enjoyable visit. Exhibitions on the mine tramways and Refreshment is provided for all tastes, from the
